Because I'm on the runway with some of the best models in the industry.

                    The pageant world
If your going to become a prominent face in the entertainment world, it's time for you to take down those inappropriate pictures that might haunt you for the rest of your life. Pageant Planet tells you the rules to avoiding public embarrassment.

Take down those risky photo's

Whether it's a year ago or last night, no one needs to see the photo's of you drinking, smoking, or in any other compromising photo.  If you are on facebook, twitter, or even here, remember that you have put yourself out there to be seen publicly.  I have heard so many people argue that there profile is their business and they can do as they please.  But think of it like this- would you walk into a grocery store and have photos of yourself drinking and partying plastered all over you?  No.  The point is that when you go out into public-like the grocery store- it is your private business what your intentions are and what you are doing.  It is, however, everyone else's right to take notice.  So put your best foot forward.  You have no idea if a judge is scoping you out on-line or if a potential employer has taken notice.

This is what you would define as a MESS!so please class of 2012, If you plan on becoming famous, take down these picture! or you will be ridiculed. the author uses Ethos( his title as a known pageant couch) to establish what he knows about inappropriate pictures.

                  One word, Bollywood

The singing, the dancing, and the Mumbai culture, I love it all. I Have been a fan of Bollywood since a little girl, so I just wanted to share my love with you. Here is a quote about how fantastic Bollywood movies are.

“I've always thought people would find a lot more pleasure in their routines if they burst into song at significant moments.”
This quote is so true, I Americans had more singing and dancing in there lives, maybe there would not be so many divorces. Just joking! But, I I do think that Bollywood movies do have appeal to emotion such as sadness and happiness. Can I get a Pathos anyone?

Roof top Prince... Is this the best drama ever?

Roof top prince is a Korean drama I have been watching recently and I decided to blog about it because the ending is crazzzzzzzzzzzy good.
Even if you didn’t come to meet me, I’m just going to like you.” – Park Ha

THIS IS MY FAVORITE QUOTE FROM THIS DRAMA ROOF TOP PRINCE.
the author uses pathos to appeal to the audience. The reason why I say that the Author uses pathos because there appealing to the audience romantic side. In this part of the movie the quote is from, the girl tells her crush that's she's going to continue to like him so he should just like her anyways.  I rate this drama a 9 out of 10, so if any of you enjoy watching Korean drama with subtitles, give this one a spin

Asians With Afro's ='s Fashion trend!?!

A fashion trend that has been blooming in Korea is getting Afros or kinks.I know among  some African american women especially, this is beyond weird. But does it take another race obsession with kinky/curly  hair for African American to realize the need to ease up on the relaxers?

Coolest World Leader - Has an Afro.
Coolest and best Athletes - Have Afros.
Coolest pop stars - Have some type of Afro.
The coolest guys in most movies - Have Afros.
The Afro is represents what the slicked back duck tailed hair of Fonzi or James Dean did to a Eurocentric generation decades ago.
Today - He who would be cool is he who has an Afro.

The rest of the world see's kinky/curly\ hair as interesting, so why can't African Americans see that?
There's nothing wrong with having this kind of hair texture. you can still straighten your hair or add extensions   , Heck you can even rock a wig for all I care. Just don't kill one of the things that are unique about you. The author of this blog, ugly john, uses ethos to build up the credibility of Afro's. Basically, he says that a whole bunch of great people have them and love them, so why shouldn't others get Afro's too?

Tell Me, That We Belong Together

Tricked you!! I bet you think this blog s about falling in love an blah, blah, blah. Well sorry to disappoint, but it's not. This song is related to my childhood. every time I here this song, it reminds me of riding the bus to my elementary school.

I Love U Animated Kiss

"I'll be the the greatest fan of your life"

These lines remind me of the dedication of friendships and what it takes to uphold it. I remember how I disliked many of the girls on my middle school bus at first, but then after awhile I became friends with the girls I hated. This quote was actually a portion of a long sentence from a song called I'll Be. It was written by Edwin McCain. this song has uses alot of pathos and emotional appeal to show the audience the song writers commitment to his partner. That's why they play this song at weddings.

Take your Cap and Leave My SWEATER...

I Love this song because it's the opposite of what society tells us is suppose to happen when a couple brakes up. The GUY is the one who is all emotional. Maybe she was marriage material?  Oh, but the way this song is by  Keith Urban

I Woke up early this morning around 4am
With the moon shining bright as headlights on the interstate
I pulled the covers over my head and tried to catch some sleep
But thoughts of us kept keeping me awake
Ever since you found yourself in someone else's arms
I've been trying my best to get along
But that's okay
There's nothing left to say, but  Take your records, take your freedom
Take your memories I don't need'em
Take your space and take your reasons
But you'll think of me
And take your cap and leave my sweater
'Cause we have nothin' left to weather
In fact I'll feel a whole lot better
But you'll think of me, you'll think of me

You'll think of me

My Favorite lines in this song is you'll think of me. I believe that this is the writers way of saying, yeah I might be crying now, but one of these days i'm going to be over you. So don't think of me and come crawling back because your other relationship sucks.  The Author uses short the short sentence, "you'll think of me" as a way to express these feelings. I also love this song soo much.

         Ouch!!!! Chinese Foot Binding!

As I was thinking about the book Chinese Cinderella, foot binding crossed my mind. her are some interesting quotes/ facts on foot binding.

n the early 10th century, emperor Li Yu of the Southern Tang dynasty in China ordered one of his slave girls to bind her feet in silk ribbons and dance on a platform littered with golden lotus flowers. From that day on, foot binding was often associated with the term golden lotus. At first, foot binding was something practiced only by those within the royal court but soon women of all social classes were eager to have dainty, "beautiful" and desirable feet.

How Were Feet Bound?

So exactly what did foot binding do to the feet? Well, young girls would have their feet bound for the first time when they were about five years old. Their mothers would take long lengths of cloth and bind the feet so that the toes would bend under and the bones in the foot would break, forcing the front and back of the foot together, giving the appearance of a high arch and tiny foot. The ultimate foot was to be between three and four inches (about 10 cm) long. Over the course of about three years, a girl's foot would be broken numerous times to get it to the perfect shape.

Foot Binding Facts

Since foot binding made it virtually impossible for women to

ge  t around on their own, many peasant women did not bind their feet. They had to work in the rice fields, and later the tea factories, so they had to be able to use their feet.

  • Foot binding was seen as a sign of beauty and attractiveness. Once a girl was of marriageable age, prospective mother-in-laws would come around and pick a wife for her son by the appearance of the girl's feet.
  • Bound feet were thought to be so alluring because they were always hidden. Bound feet were covered in bindings, socks and shoes and then doused in perfume and scented powder. They were then hidden under layers of leggings and skirts.

This is absolutely crazy! I knew about Chinese foot binding, but never in such detail! Imagine  if you could not walk for a long period of time for the rest of your life!  This quote uses ethos because it shows how much the author knows about this subject, which establishes his Authority. and yes, I got my info from Kids world. What of it?

Chinese Cinderella teaches me life lesson
These are two quotes that I like from the book Chinese Cinderella. I found one funny and the other one tho be a true life lesson.

"Wisdom comes from suffering."

"A good wife commands her husband."

The first quote, which is "wisdom comes from suffering" is indeed a life lesson. In order to gain experience a know about the world you have to suffer through ordeals. The second quote made me life, "A good wife controls her husband?" maybe a good wife does. There are many tough females who are the key to success for some of the richest men on earth.  The author expresses  both of  these things through the use of short  sentences(which are the quotes).

                    Roots before branches
                                 By Room For Two

This song is very heartfelt and it makes me think about who I used to be and the things that I went through that made me who I am today.

So many things
To do and say But I can't seem

To find my way
But I wanna know how
I know
I'm meant
For something else
But first
I gotta find myself
But I don't know how

Oh, why do
I reach for the stars
When I don't have wings
To carry me that far?

I gotta have
Roots before branches
To know who I am
Before I know
Who I wanna be
And faith
To take chances
To live like I see
A place in this world
For me

Sometimes
I don't wanna feel
And forget the pain
Is real
Put my head
In the clouds
Oh, start to run
And then I fall
Seein'
I can't get it all
Without my feet
On the ground

There's always a seed
Before there's a rose
The more that it rains
The more I will grow

I gotta have
Roots before branches
To know who I am
Before I know
Who I wanna be
And faith
To take chances
To live like I see
A place in this world
For me

Whatever comes
I know how to take it
Learn to be strong
I won't have to fake it
Oh, you're understandin'
Oh, but when you come
And do it best
There ain't nothin'
To stoppin' east to west
(I'm not sure
if this is right)
But I'll still
Be standing
I'll be standing

I gotta have
Roots before branches
To know who I am
Before I know
Who I wanna be
And faith
To take chances
To live like I see
A place in this world

I gotta have
Roots before branches
To know who I am
Before I know
Who I wanna be
And faith
To take chances
To live like I see
A place in this world
For me

I gotta have
Roots before branches

My favorite lines in this song are "to live like I see a place in this world for me." The writers of this song use this short sentence and many others through out the poem to show that you have to make mistakes and fall down in order to find your place in this world.

                      Money Problems

I thought this quote was funny because it is true. I use a dime to screw in parts of my sewing  machine all the time.

Inflation hasn't ruined everything. A dime can still be used as a screwdriver.~Quoted in P.S. I love you, compiled by H. Jackson Brown

What I believe is Being done here, is that the H. Jackson Brown is trying to make light of our situation. Yes we are n a recession and yes people are losing there homes everyday, but look on the bright side, we can still use  a dime as a screw driver. The author writing is very relaxed and informal towards the audience, that's one of the reasons this quote is hilariousness.

Fun Animation time! (HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH A.P. ENGLISH)
 Men.........

I thought this quote was funny because it is so true! But I don't agree that it only apply's to men, if anyone's beliefs/ideals are threatened they tend to step into action.

Men are prepared to accomplish the incredible If there Ideals are threatened ~Maya Angelou

This Quote talks about how men never move or put anything into action unless they are challenged mentally or physically. Maya Angelou uses a long sentence (The one from above), to state one of the ways men act.

              Janie's Got a Gun...............

At first all a thought about this song was that it was funny, but there was obviously something wrong with Janie, or else why would she be carrying around a gun?  By the way, the kitty stands for Janie :  )

um, dum, dum, honey what have you done?

Dum, dum, dum it's the sound of my gun.

Dum, dum, dum, honey what have you done?
Dum, dum, dum it's the sound

Janie's got a gun
Janie's got a gun
Her whole world's come undone
From lookin' straight at the sun
What did her daddy do?
What did he put you through?
They said when Janie was arrested
they found him underneath a train
But man, he had it comin' Now that Janie's got a gun
she ain't never gonna be the same.

Janie's got a gun
Janie's got a gun
Her dog day's just begun
Now everybody is on the run
Tell me now it's untrue.
What did her daddy do?
He jacked a little bitty baby
The man has got to be insane
They say the spell that he was under the lightning and the
thunder knew that someone had to stop the rain

Run away, run away from the pain yeah, yeah yeah yeah
Run away run away from the pain yeah yeah
yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Run away, run away, run, run away

Janie's got a gun
Janie's got a gun
Her dog day's just begun
Now everybody is on the run
What did her daddy do?
It's Janie's last I.O.U.
She had to take him down easy and put a bullet in his brain
She said 'cause nobody believes me. The man was such a sleeze.
He ain't never gonna be the same.

Run away, run away from the pain yeah, yeah
yeah yeah yeah
Run away run away from the pain yeah yeah
yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Run away, run away, run, run away

Janie's got a gun
Janie's got a gun
Janie's got a gun
Everybody is on the run

Janie's got a gun
Her dog day's just begun
Now everybody is on the run
Because Janie's got a gun
Janie's got a gun
Her dog day's just begun
Now everybody is on the run
Janie's got a gun

The lyrics that stand out to me in this poem is:

What did her daddy do?
It's Janie's last I.O.U.
She had to take him down easy and put a bullet in his brain
She said 'cause nobody believes me. The man was such a sleeze.
He ain't never gonna be the same.

I feel that in this section of the song, you can sense that the author had a bad relationship with his/her father. The author uses the short sentences to "What did her daddy do?" and "it's Janie's last I.O.U. to show how Janie is seeking revenge because she was wronged by her father. the long sentence "She had to take him down easy and put a bullet in his brain She said 'cause nobody believes me." can be translated as Janie's only escape from the horrible things her father is doing to her. the additional two short sentences, "the man was such a sleeze," and "he ain't ever gonna be the same" tells me that Janie does not or will not regret killing her father because he was such an evil man.

               Oh, The Places You'll Go!

This Quote stands out to me because it is a quote from one of doctor Seuss's books. What this quote interprets to is that a person should make there own decisions.

“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go...” -Doctor  Seuss

From my understanding, I believe that what Dr. Seuss is saying is that, everyone has ahead to think for themselves, and there own feet that they guide, so they can make there own choices in life. Dr. Seuss uses the short sentences "you have a brain in your head" and "you have feet in your shoes" to show how important it is for an individual to think on their own.

I Hope You Dance
This song is written by Lee Ann Womack and it is about take chances in life and never giving up.

I hope you dance
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small when you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances but they're worth taking
Lovin' might be a mistake but it's worth making
Don't let some hell bent heart leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out reconsider
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance

- Lee Ann Womack
Everytime I listen to this song, it makes me feel hopeful and an over acheiver. It inspires me to try my best in everything I do and to not give up. My favorite lines from this song are,  "I hope you dance." Mrs. Womack also uses this short sentence line to tell the audience to never give up.  The tone of this song is a very hopeful and inspiring one. This is what I believe the author wanted to portray to the audience

I  Love fashion

I love this poem because it expresses Everything I love about fashion. It talks about fashion trends and how theres always somthing new in style. The poem also talks about the negative side of fashion. That being a trend follower can lead you to lose your personality.

The fashionable body is due for a change
and over the years has encountered a range
of shapes and sizes dictated by trends
because the quest for vogue never ends!

When consuming the persona of an existing state
the chameleon tread lightly in order to equate
the delicate balance and approximation of fame
but even a moth gets burnt by the flame!
the fashion cognoscenti all stop and stare
at those long skinny legs and the prominent beak
of a strutting peacock at her artistic peak!

Wrapped in its beauty with a ribbon and a bow
deception is the veneer of what you don't know
and unless your imagination is completely denied
it's a package so pretty but empty inside!

"and unless your imagination is completely denied it's a package so pretty but empty inside!" These are the lines that speak to me the most in the poem. It tells me that if you constantly strive to be a trend setter, instead of creating fashionable clothing that defines you, you will lose your individuality. The author uses tone to express her piont of view. she begins with a tone that warns about how the quest for high fashion never ends. Throughout the whole poem she keeps a playful, yet warning tone of the dangers of fashion.
